Applications Open for 2026 National Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievement Library

The National Philosophy and Social Sciences Work Office has announced the 2026 applications for the National Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievement Library (hereafter referred to as the Achievement Library). Shantou University’s Research Office has circulated the notice and is inviting qualified faculty members to apply.

Purpose

The Achievement Library aims to promote theoretical innovation, knowledge creation, and methodological advancement aligned with national strategy, social needs, and academic frontiers. It seeks to publish landmark scholarly works that reflect the theoretical and practical innovations of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, showcase outstanding scholarship, and contribute to building China’s autonomous knowledge system in philosophy and social sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

• The submitted work must be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and uphold Marxist positions, viewpoints, and methods.
• Works must address significant research questions, demonstrate originality and academic innovation, and contribute meaningfully to theoretical development, socioeconomic progress, or disciplinary advancement.
• Works must comply with academic norms and balance intellectual rigor with readability.
• Scope covers all 28 disciplines/fields of the National Social Science Fund. Interdisciplinary works should designate one discipline as the primary field under the “priority alignment” principle.
• Manuscripts must be fully completed and not yet publicly published. Content overlap with previously published works or articles must not exceed 15%.
• Works must be Chinese-language academic monographs of no less than 200,000 characters and no more than 1,000,000 characters.
• Solo-authored works are preferred; co-authored works may have no more than three copyright holders. Applicants must hold a senior professional title. Each applicant may submit only one work.
• If the work is based on a National Social Science Fund project, the project’s completion grade must be Good or above. If no completion grade exists, three written endorsements from full professors are required.
• Applications must be endorsed by a designated submitting or recommending publishing house, which assumes corresponding responsibilities. Works already contracted with a designated publisher cannot be submitted through another.

Submission Materials

Applications are submitted online, supplemented by paper copies:

1. Application Form (Attachment 2), one copy
2. Abstract Brochure (Attachment 3), one copy
3. Complete manuscript, one copy
4. Revision notes for prior unpublished applications (Attachment 4, if applicable)
5. Project completion certificate with funding category, project number, and completion status (if funded by any research program)

Important: The abstract brochure and manuscript must not directly or indirectly reveal the names, affiliations, or other identifying information of the applicants, co-authors, or related projects. Any violation will result in disqualification. All materials must be consistent between online and offline submissions and free of intellectual property disputes. Fraudulent submissions, plagiarism, IP infringement, or use of already-published works will lead to public criticism, a five-year ban from National Social Science Fund applications, and disciplinary action by the applicant’s institution.

Campus Submission Procedure

Faculty members interested in applying should follow these steps:

1. For projects recommended by designated publishing houses, the publishing house is responsible for reviewing and submitting all materials. If the university seal is required, send the electronic Application Form to o_wkb@stu.edu.cn at least two working days in advance for formal review.

2. By August 4, log into the National Social Science Fund Scientific Innovation Service Management Platform (https://xm.npopss-cn.gov.cn), complete the online application, upload the Abstract Brochure, manuscript, and supporting materials, and email the plagiarism check report to o_wkb@stu.edu.cn for formal review.

3. By August 11, submit the finalized materials through the online platform and deliver paper copies to the Research Office, including: the Application Form in duplicate (A4 printed, with the recommending publishing house’s endorsement and seal), one bound set of the manuscript (A4 double-sided, left-bound), one copy of the Abstract Brochure, and one set of supplementary materials.

Additional Notes

• If the work derives from a funded project, the project must have been formally completed regardless of funding level (excluding works already subsidized by publishing grants). Projects with completion grades require at least Good; projects without grades (including those exempt from evaluation) require three full-professor endorsements.
• If the work is not derived from any funded project, three full-professor endorsements are sufficient.
• It is strictly prohibited to misrepresent a work as unfunded in order to circumvent completion requirements or grade thresholds.
• Works already supported by publishing grants, such as publishing foundation funding or the later-stage funding program of the National Social Science Fund, are ineligible for this application.
