STU to Switch Sangpu Mountain Campus Power Line on July 11, Brief Outages Expected
On the evening of July 3, a fault on the external section of the 10KV Yuda line caused a power outage in the supply area of the No. 1 switch station at the Sangpu Mountain Campus. The university’s water and electricity center temporarily restored power by shifting the load to a backup high-voltage line, and is now coordinating with the Jinping Branch of the Shantou Power Supply Bureau to repair the fault.
To ensure the reliable operation of the campus distribution network, the university will switch the No. 1 switch station load from the 185M2 backup high-voltage line back to the 240M2 main supply line starting at 13:00 on Saturday, July 11, 2026. During the switch, some users will experience brief outages of 5 to 15 minutes. Until the 10KV Yuda line fault is repaired, the entire campus will be supplied by the Diejin substation.
