According to the Infrastructure Department at Shantou University, to further improve campus conditions, a new teaching laboratory building will be constructed east of Building E at the Sangpushan Campus. The total floor area is approximately 20,000 square meters, comprising three zones: Zone A (two above-ground floors plus one basement), Zone B (nine above-ground floors), and Zone C (six above-ground floors). Above-ground facilities will include classrooms, laboratories, and teaching management spaces. The basement level will house civil defense facilities, parking, and equipment rooms.

The project has entered the pile foundation construction phase, involving uninterrupted concrete pouring operations. To complete noise-intensive tasks such as pile foundations and excavation during the summer vacation, and to minimize impact on autumn semester teaching and living, extended construction hours will take effect immediately.

Construction will generate some noise and vibration. Students remaining on campus in dormitories near the construction site who experience noise disturbances may apply to their college for temporary room relocation to dormitories farther from the site.
