The Student Affairs Office and Security Department have jointly issued the 2026 summer vacation safety tips for students:

Personal Safety

Take responsibility for your health; ensure food safety; avoid crowded places; do not swim in reservoirs, lakes, or other dangerous waters; wear life jackets on boats.

Property Safety

Keep valuables secure and avoid flaunting them in public. Guard against telecom fraud — do not click unknown links, trust unknown calls, or disclose personal information; always verify before transferring money.

Fire Safety

Unplug all devices and turn off water, electricity, and windows before leaving. No high-power appliances, open flames, or EV batteries in dorms. Use certified chargers and power banks.

Travel Safety

Use licensed transport only; avoid unlicensed or overloaded vehicles. Travel in groups and inform family of your itinerary. Check weather forecasts before traveling and avoid high-risk activities in severe weather.

Mental Health

Manage your time and emotions. For distress, contact your counselor or call the Shantou 24-hour psychological crisis hotline at 0754-87271333 or the provincial hotline 12356.

On-Campus Stay

Follow dormitory regulations; do not host outsiders. Follow safety protocols in labs. Emergencies: Sangpu campus clinic 86502651, security 86504110; Donghai’an clinic 86500120, security 86500110.
