Computer Public Course Changes: Three Courses Discontinued, AI Fundamentals to Replace

The Computer Teaching Center has issued a notice on computer public course enrollment changes.

Discontinued Courses

The following courses will be discontinued starting Fall 2026:

  • Fundamentals and Frontiers of Computer Applications
  • Python and AI (Science & Engineering)
  • Python and AI (Humanities & Social Sciences)

Replacement Course

(COM1026A) AI Fundamentals will be offered from Fall 2026. Students enrolled in 2025 or later who have not yet completed their computer public course requirement must take this replacement course to fulfill their credits.

Course Availability

To ensure enrollment capacity, 2 sections of AI Fundamentals have been arranged at the Donghai’an Campus and 1 section at the Sangpu Campus.
