STU Organizes Faculty and Students for 2026 Village History Book Compilation Project

It is reported that STU will organize faculty and students to participate in the 2026 Villagers Tell Village History book series compilation project, leveraging the “Double Hundred Action” to preserve Lingnan village culture and rural heritage.

Eligibility and Locations

Open to all faculty and students. Service locations include Nan’ao County (Shantou) and Jiexi County (Jieyang).

Work Arrangements

Team Formation: Teams of 15-20 members, including at least 3 students majoring in humanities, history, or philosophy. Local students are encouraged to return to their hometowns to participate. Each team will cover 3-5 administrative villages within one town.

Training: The university will provide training following provincial guidelines, covering compilation principles, data collection methods, writing standards, and oral history interview techniques.

Research and Writing: Teams will conduct field research in villages, collecting materials through archives, interviews, and witness accounts, presenting modern rural development from the perspective of “villagers telling their own history.” All materials must be verified; fabrication is strictly prohibited.
