Institute of Regional and International Studies Recruits Undergraduate Research Assistants
It is reported that the STU Institute of Regional and International Studies, a key decision-making research base of Guangdong Province, is recruiting undergraduate research assistants to participate in research projects on Southeast Asia, Thailand, overseas Chaoshan Chinese, and Chinese business economy.
Eligibility
Open to all freshmen and sophomores, with preference for majors in economics, languages, journalism, international law, international relations, Chinese education, management, and data science.
Responsibilities
Research assistants will participate in projects including oral history of overseas Chaoshan Chinese leaders, overseas Chinese situation surveys, and database construction, conducting field research, data collection, transcription, interviews, and paper writing, leading at least one research report or paper during the appointment.
Support
Outstanding assistants may participate in field research in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong/Macau, or Chaoshan areas, attend academic conferences, receive research compensation and signature rights on publications, and benefit from one-on-one mentorship. Those who complete milestone tasks may receive full funding for one national or international academic conference.
