STU Revises College Student Mentor Guidelines, Mentor Scholarship Raised to 1,500 Yuan/Year

It is reported that Shantou University has issued a decision to amend the College Student Mentor Work Guidelines. Key changes include:

Mentor Ratio

Mentors shall be assigned at a ratio of no more than 30:1 to resident students, selected from senior students with good character and academic standing. They assist with daily life guidance, extracurricular activities, and college culture development.

Selection Criteria

Candidates must not have received any academic probation warning in the year prior to selection, and must have no failing grades in final exams during the academic year of their mentorship.

Assessment and Incentives

Mentors who complete one year of service and pass the assessment will receive a mentor scholarship of 1,500 yuan per year. Colleges may adjust mentors whose performance does not meet requirements during the tenure.

The amendments took effect on the date of issuance.
