Liberal Arts College Opens 2025-2026 Outstanding Student Cadre Selection
The School of Liberal Arts at Shantou University has announced the 2025-2026 Outstanding Student Cadre selection and commendation program, aimed at recognizing outstanding student leaders and setting role models across the college.
The selection is open to members of the college’s various youth league branches, student union, Youth Volunteers Association, Media Corps, class student committees, and residential hall student councils. The process adheres to principles of fairness, transparency, and openness, combining self-nomination with organizational recommendation.
Award Categories
Three awards will be conferred: Outstanding Student Cadre, Student Work Activist, and Outstanding Volunteer Youth.
Award Quotas
The number of Outstanding Student Cadre and Student Work Activist recipients shall not exceed 30% of the eligible members in each student organization (or class committee). Ten Outstanding Volunteer Youth recipients will be selected.
Eligibility Criteria
Outstanding Student Cadres must comply with the regulations of the “Shantou University Student Cadre Management Measures,” demonstrate firm political convictions, good moral character, solid academic performance, and outstanding organizational capability, with excellent evaluations from their student organizations or class committees.
Student Work Activists are open to members of the student union, Youth Volunteers Association, Media Corps, and similar bodies (excluding student cadres). Applicants must show outstanding performance in organizing student activities and receive excellent evaluations.
Outstanding Volunteer Youth recipients must have logged at least 50 hours of i-volunteer service in the past academic year (excluding service-labor courses), maintain strong academic standing, and not have received the college’s Outstanding Volunteer Youth title in the past two years. Those who have participated in the “Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Project” assault teams or the college’s “Nourishing Hearts Project” will be given priority.
Selection Process
Recommendations for Outstanding Student Cadres and Student Work Activists must be submitted by 22:00 on June 18, 2026. Student organizations such as the student union, Volunteers Association, Media Corps, and residential hall councils should send their nomination lists along with the full member rosters to the Student Affairs email at wxyxssw@stu.edu.cn. Class student committees and youth league branch committees should submit their lists to the assigned counselor.
Applicants for Outstanding Volunteer Youth should send their application materials to the email of Student Li at 23pli@stu.edu.cn.
A review committee convened by the college will evaluate all candidates based on the selection criteria and performance records. The preliminary list will be published for public comment before final commendation notices are issued and honor certificates awarded.
