'Light & Shadow Long March, Youth Ideological Education' Micro-Video Contest Launches

To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Red Army’s Long March and deepen ideals and beliefs education, the STU Youth League Committee, in collaboration with the School of Marxism, is launching the “Light & Shadow Long March, Youth Ideological Education” themed micro-video creation contest, open to all students.

The contest is hosted by the STU Youth League Committee and the School of Marxism, organized by the STU Youth League School, and will run from June to September 2026. Participating teams are encouraged to create works based on classic Long March stories, heroic figures, visits to revolutionary sites, or contemporary interpretations of the Long March spirit, using documentary filming, dramatic reenactments, or creative editing.

Entries must be original, no longer than 5 minutes, in 16:9 aspect ratio, with a resolution of at least 720p (1280×720), and file size under 700MB. Submission materials, including a registration form, informed consent form, and the video, must be submitted by September 5, 2026, at 17:00 via the designated online channel at: https://docs.qq.com/form/page/DV3RWbGRxUkJESWt3

A panel of experts will evaluate entries based on thematic relevance, content quality, cinematography and editing, and ideological depth. Prizes (first, second, and third) will be awarded proportionally, and supervising teachers of winning works will receive an Outstanding Instructor award.

Entries must be original; plagiarism will result in disqualification. The organizers retain the right to use the works (including online display, promotion, and screening), while participants retain authorship. Entries may count toward the next semester’s ideological and political practice course, with participation reported to course instructors.
