The university has forwarded the official notice for the Guangdong Provincial Classic Reading Competition, led by the provincial publicity department, to encourage campus participation.

Timeline

  • Online preliminary submission: April 22 – June 30, 2026
  • Preliminary round (online): Before July 15, 2026
  • Selection round (online): Before end of July 2026
  • Provincial finals (offline): Before August 15, 2026
  • Awards and stage performance (offline): End of August 2026, during the South China Book Festival

Participation

  • Open to: All readers in Guangdong, no age, occupation, or location restrictions
  • Tracks:
    • Youth (under 18)
    • Adult
    • Family/Team (up to 6 members)
  • Registration: Download the Nanfang Metropolis N-Video app, enter the competition portal, fill in information and upload works

Work Requirements

Works should be based on the “Reading Lingnan” book list, highlighting Lingnan culture and Bay Area development. Youth participants in the preliminary round may submit images or videos; adults and family/team entries must submit videos. Creative forms such as recitation, drama, role-play, shared reading, and creative interpretation are encouraged.

  • Resolution: not less than 720P
  • File size: not more than 500M
  • Original content, no watermark

Awards

A total of 100 winning individuals/teams will be selected:

  • Youth track: 50 awards
  • Adult track: 30 awards
  • Family/Team track: 20 awards

Each track will have first, second, and third prizes. Winners will receive honor certificates + premium book packages. Outstanding works will be included in the provincial lifelong learning platform resource library.
