Journalism College Faculty Win Awards at Young Teacher Teaching Competition

According to the College of Journalism and Communication, at the 8th STU Young Faculty Teaching Competition final held on May 27 at the Sangpushan campus, college faculty members Liu Zhonghui and Li Qiulin won second prize and third prize respectively — the college’s best-ever result in this competition.
Course Highlights
Liu Zhonghui’s Public Service Advertising course covers the characteristics, functions, communication models, and operational frameworks of public service advertising, spanning topic selection, creative expression, media integration, and效果 evaluation. The course integrates AIGC and human-computer interaction technologies, adding interactive teaching modules while incorporating social issues such as fire safety, integrity culture, and urban development into the classroom.
Li Qiulin’s Introduction to Journalism is a required course for first-year journalism and international journalism majors. It combines core journalism knowledge with cutting-edge topics including international communication and media convergence, enhancing students’ social science literacy through an interdisciplinary lens.
Competition Overview
The competition was jointly organized by the Center for Faculty Development and Educational Assessment, the Trade Union, and the Academic Affairs Office. It was divided into Group 1 (Liberal Arts & Ideological-Political) and Group 2 (Sciences, Engineering & Medical), with each group awarding 1 grand prize, 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 9 third prizes.
