"Strings and Verse" Campus Instrumental & Recitation Competition Concludes

Overview

According to the Arts Education Center, the “Strings and Verse” campus instrumental and recitation competition final, also serving as the校内 selection for the 8th National University Art Exhibition, was held on the afternoon of May 24. Arts Education Center Director Professor Dong Xuemin delivered the opening address.

Instrumental Competition

Contestants from various colleges performed on instruments including clarinet, saxophone, bamboo flute, electric guitar, piano, drums, and guzheng. Law student Yang won the first prize with a piano interpretation of the Chinese classical piece Flute and Drum at Sunset.

Recitation Competition

Participants performed classic poems and original works exploring youth ideals and patriotism. Liberal Arts student Zhang won first prize with a powerful recitation of the classic poem The Difficulty of the Shu Road.

Guest Performance and Commentary

Arts Education Center faculty Zheng Jieren delivered a special piano performance. Zhuang Liwen, a member of the Guangdong Recitation Association, provided professional commentary on the recitation entries.
