International College Issues Summer Drowning Prevention Safety Reminder
Safety Reminder
As summer arrives, the International College has issued a drowning prevention safety reminder, urging students to stay vigilant and learn self-rescue techniques.
Six Don’ts: Don’t swim alone without permission; don’t swim with others without authorization; don’t swim in areas without safety facilities or lifeguards; don’t swim in unfamiliar waters; students who are not strong swimmers should not attempt water rescues.
Four Wild Swimming Hazards: underwater drop-offs, rip currents (the most隐蔽 and deadly), rapidly changing tides, and lack of rescue resources. Cliff diving is particularly dangerous — water depth is difficult to judge and can cause severe spinal injuries or internal organ damage.
