STU Wins 20 Awards at 15th Guangdong 'Challenge Cup' Competition

Results

From May 22–24, the 15th “Challenge Cup” Guangdong College Student Entrepreneurship Competition concluded at Guangdong Technical Normal University. STU won 20 provincial awards: 5 silver and 7 bronze in the main competition, and 1 silver and 7 bronze in the Heyuan special track.

Featured Projects

• Gastric Ultrasound AI Diagnostic System (Medical College): Achieves 89.5% accuracy in automated gastric wall layer segmentation using U-net models.
• Intelligent Brain Puncture Assistance System (Medical College): Combines deep learning and 3D printing with 89.09% accuracy; 3 software copyrights and 5 patents filed.
• Yangming Culture + Bamboo Sea Tourism (Engineering College): An immersive cultural tourism model for Heping County’s bamboo sea (350,000+ annual visitors).

Participation

A record 242 campus entries from 1,361 students were submitted, up 132 from the previous competition.
