Research Integrity and Publishing Ethics Training: Common Ethical Issues for Authors
Training Overview
With the growing use of AI writing tools and research image-processing tools, academic ethics risks in manuscript submission have increased significantly. To help faculty and students avoid peer-review disputes, retractions, and other compliance issues, the library is hosting a live training session on research integrity and publishing ethics. The session will focus on common ethical issues faced by authors during submission and offer practical guidance.

- Whether a paper may be challenged due to improper image processing or inappropriate use of AI tools
- Which generative AI practices may violate journal policies and which may improve efficiency
- How to clearly define authorship and contribution in submissions
- How to avoid compliance risks caused by overlooking conflict-of-interest statements or ethics approval requirements
- Whether common citation practices may cross the line into citation manipulation
