Student Affairs Office Issues 2026 Student Loan Work Notice

Graduate Confirmation

2026 graduates with China Development Bank (CDB) origin-based student loans must log into the Student Online Service System (https://sls.cdb.com.cn) by June 24 (Wednesday) to update personal information, submit a graduation confirmation request, and print the confirmation form for submission to their college.

Colleges must submit electronic summaries to scholarship@stu.edu.cn and deliver physical confirmation forms to Room 223, Administration Center, Sangpushan Campus by June 30 (Tuesday).

Repayment Plan Changes

  • Loan extension: Graduates who defer graduation or pursue postgraduate studies may apply for repayment plan changes at their local county education bureau, providing admission notices or deferral documentation
  • Repayment assistance: Students who have passed away, gone missing, or lost labor capacity may apply for full loan forgiveness; unemployed graduates facing severe financial hardship due to natural disasters or serious illness may apply for annual interest and principal relief

Loan Policy Highlights

  • Loan limit: Up to ¥20,000/year for undergraduates, ¥25,000/year for graduate students
  • Loan term: Remaining study period + 15 years, max 22 years, min 6 years
  • Interest rate: LPR5Y minus 70 basis points
  • In-school interest: Fully subsidized by the government
  • Grace period: 5 years after graduation (interest-only payments)

Application Process

  • First-time loans: Students and co-borrowers visit the county-level financial aid center with the application form, admission letter or student ID, and original ID cards and household registration documents
  • Loan renewal: Guangdong Province supports remote renewal via the Student Online Service System or the CDB Student Loan App

Outreach

Colleges are instructed to prioritize outreach to students who have previously applied for financial hardship recognition but have not yet taken out loans, and to remind existing borrowers to renew their loans promptly.
