Alumni Share Entertainment Marketing Insights for the AI Era

On the afternoon of May 17, the 23rd “New Fire” Alumni Lecture and Zhizhou Culture Recruitment Fair took place at the East Coast Campus. Cai Qingqing, a 2009 Radio & Television alumna and PR Director at Zhizhou Culture, along with Zhang Qi, Senior Project Manager at Zhizhou Culture, shared frontline industry insights. The event was hosted by Hong Mengdian, Deputy Party Secretary of the school.

With 12 years of marketing experience and credits on S-tier projects including Starlight Awards and “Go Fighting!”, Cai noted that the AI era has significantly lowered technical barriers to entry. “You don’t need to know PS or PR to get started, but what’s truly irreplaceable is your aesthetic sense, judgment, learning ability, and execution.” She emphasized that recruiters value real-world examples such as social media operations and viral content creation, encouraging students to engage with the market early and let their work speak for itself.

Zhang Qi shared workplace survival tips under the theme “Before You Begin.” She advised students to clarify three questions before job hunting: motivation for entering the industry, preferred work environment, and desired growth. In the workplace, she recommended being “smartly responsible, not blindly overworking,” communicating workload proactively, and accepting that results may be delayed. “You don’t need to excel at everything — standing out in one or two areas is enough to establish yourself.”

Dedicated Recruitment Fair

Following the sharing session, Zhizhou Culture hosted a recruitment fair offering full-time and summer internship positions in publicity planning, video editing, and visual design for undergraduate and graduate students. The event featured on-site resume submission, multi-on-one interviews, and Q&A sessions, with outstanding candidates eligible for immediate job offers.
