Summer Rural Outreach Campaign Launches

Shantou University’s Student Affairs Office has announced the launch of the 2026 “National Financial Aid and Student Loan Policy Rural Outreach” campaign. Themed “National Aid Accompanies Your Growth, Student Loans Help You Succeed,” the program will run during the summer break (July–August 2026), targeting less-developed areas in eastern, western, and northern Guangdong. Priority is given to the university’s “Double Hundred Action” partner counties: Nan’ao County in Shantou and Jiexi County in Jieyang.

Team Recruitment Requirements

The campaign is open to all enrolled students, including graduate students. Each team should consist of 8–10 members with 1–2 faculty advisors, and activities should last 5–10 days. A maximum of 6 teams may be nominated by the university. Existing summer volunteer service teams, student party member practice teams, and admissions outreach teams may incorporate financial aid promotion into their plans and apply.

Key Dates

  • Application deadline: June 10 (Wednesday) — submit project proposals, team rosters, and budget plans to scholarship@stu.edu.cn
  • Activity period: Recommended to start from mid-July onward (promotional materials expected to be printed by mid-July)
  • Final report deadline: August 31 (Monday) — submit activity summaries, research reports, and related materials

Incentives

Teams approved through university review will receive “Financial Aid Promotion Ambassador” certificates and partial funding support. After the campaign, the Guangdong Provincial Education Department and the provincial scholarship and financial aid committee will select outstanding participants, advisors, teams, and research reports for province-wide recognition. Each university may nominate up to 2 outstanding team members and 2 outstanding advisors.
