STU Launches 2027 Graduate Supervisor Qualification Review
Shantou University’s Graduate School has announced the launch of the 2027 Graduate Supervisor Qualification Review. All teachers planning to recruit graduate students in 2027 must submit an application — only those who pass the review will be authorized to supervise.
Review Criteria
The review is conducted in accordance with the “Regulations on Teachers Applying to Supervise Graduate Students at Shantou University” (STU Document [2022] No. 36) and the detailed implementation rules established by each college. The scope covers all disciplines and professional degree categories in which the university has doctoral or master’s degree authorization.
Timeline
- Individual Application (May 20 – May 26): Eligible teachers must log in to the Graduate Management Information System, complete their personal information, verify research projects and representative achievements, and submit applications to their respective disciplines. Cross-disciplinary applicants should apply to the discipline they intend to supervise in.
- Committee Review and Public Notice (by June 8): Each college’s Degree Evaluation Sub-committee will review and determine the list of qualified supervisors, with results publicly posted for at least 5 working days.
- Materials Submission (by June 16): Each unit must submit the finalized list of qualified supervisors to the Graduate School.
Important Notes
The Graduate School requires all units to ensure that every eligible teacher is notified. Applicants must provide truthful information — any falsification, once discovered, will result in a three-year ban on graduate student recruitment applications.
