It is reported that to help the Class of 2014 better integrate into university life and strengthen their sense of belonging, the Shantou University Youth League Committee and the editorial department of “STU Youth” newspaper are co-hosting the 2014 freshman League Day activity — “Hello, Shantou” City Exploration.

Activity Format

Freshmen will explore Shantou city in teams, with each group drawing a theme by lottery — including architecture, food, customs, and more — and following clues to complete exploration tasks.

Teams of 5 to 6 students may register together, with no more than 2 non-2014 freshmen per group. Individuals who register on their own will be randomly assigned to teams by the STU Youth staff based on available numbers.

Schedule

Selected teams must submit an activity proposal after registration and complete their exploration between November 7 and 9, followed by a sharing and award ceremony.

The organizing committee will select 15 projects for funding, each receiving RMB 150 in startup capital. First, second, and third prizes as well as a Most Popular Team Award will be given after the activity concludes.

Registration

The registration deadline is 12:00 on November 4. Interested students may register through any of the following channels:

  1. Download the registration form from the campus intranet, fill it out, and email it to 14ymiu@stu.edu.cn
  2. Register in person at the Golden Triangle booth on October 31 and November 1
  3. Pick up a paper form at the poster board or event site and return it to the collection box by November 4 at 12:00
