Academic Affairs Office Sets Spring 2015 Course Schedule, Textbook Info Due by Nov 28

The Academic Affairs Office has released teaching arrangements for the Spring 2015 semester, directing all teaching units to finalize course plans and submit textbook selection information to ensure smooth operation of the new semester.

| Instructor Qualifications | Strict adherence to the “Shantou University Undergraduate Teaching Adjunct Instructor Hiring and Management Measures (Trial)” |

Textbook Selection
The Academic Affairs Office emphasized that all course textbooks must be centrally ordered through the university to prevent violations of financial discipline and commercial bribery. Units selecting foreign-language textbooks must respect intellectual property rights and must not reproduce or use unauthorized外文 materials.
The textbook selection workflow is as follows:
- Instructors determine required textbooks based on course plans
- After departmental review and approval, the academic administrator fills out the “Shantou University Textbook Selection Registration Form”
- Textbook information is entered into the credit system by November 28, cross-referenced with corresponding courses
- For courses without assigned instructors yet, departments may pre-select textbooks to avoid situations where no textbook is available on the first day of class
Lecture notes and duplicated materials must be prefixed with “[讲义]” or “[誊印]” and identify the instructor providing the materials. Textbooks with pending prices must be marked “[价格待定].” Updated forms for textbook ordering have been issued and must be used by all departments.
