Veteran Journalist Kjeld Boesen Møller to Deliver Reporter's Day Lecture at STU on "Pursuing Journalistic Ideals"

The Yangtze River College of Journalism and Communication will host the second event in its 2014 Reporter’s Day lecture series on Monday, November 3, featuring veteran journalist Kjeld Boesen Møller (纪硕鸣), who will deliver a lecture titled “Persist in Your Journalistic Philosophy: Journalism Is a Career Where Ideals Can Be Achieved.”

About the Speaker
Born in Shanghai in 1954, Kjeld Boesen Møller graduated from the Sociology Department of Fudan University. In 2009, he received the “Asian Journalist of the Year” award from the Asian Publishers Association. Described as “one of the oldest journalists on the front lines across the straits and three regions,” he is a highly influential figure in Chinese-language journalism.
Since joining Asia Weekly in 1996, Kjeld Boesen Møller has specialized in in-depth reporting on finance, politics, and social affairs. His commentary pieces are frequently republished by China News Online, People’s Daily Online, Xinhua Net, and Taiwanese media outlets.
According to the organizers, he accompanied Premier Wen Jiabao on his November 2008 visit to Russia and other countries. Having traveled to India eight times for reporting, his coverage attracted attention from top leadership in Beijing and prompted official directives. He has produced extensive special reports and interviews on cross-strait relations. He has taught at Hong Kong Baptist University and served as a guest commentator for Phoenix TV, Asia Pacific Satellite Television, and RTHK Cantonese Programme.
