Campus Landline 8650 Long-Distance Service Restored

It is reported that on the morning of October 30, 2014, the campus landline system at Shantou University experienced a temporary disruption affecting the 8650 number segment. Due to a fault in China Mobile’s landline long-distance communication channel, users were unable to place domestic or international long-distance calls starting around 10:00 a.m. Local calls within Jieyang were unaffected, both incoming and outgoing.

Following emergency troubleshooting by China Mobile, all long-distance services for the 8650 segment have been restored to normal operation. The Network and Information Center reminded faculty and students to contact the campus communications help desk at 8650-3400-1 for any related issues.
