Shantou University Begins Final Review of 2011-2012 Provincial Talent Funding Projects
It is reported that, in accordance with the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education’s “Notice on Conducting Final Reviews of Talent Funding Projects for 2011-2012” (Yue Jiaoshi Han [2014] No. 113), the Research Affairs Office of Shantou University will carry out final reviews of talent introduction special funding projects approved in 2011 and 2012.
Scope of Review
A total of 13 projects require final review, involving 13 project leaders from the School of Engineering and the School of Science:

Review Method and Procedure
The review will be conducted through meetings organized by the Research Affairs Office. Generally, each project will be reviewed individually; however, if project leaders in the same discipline reach mutual agreement, projects may be combined for review by discipline. Review expenses will be borne or shared by the respective project leaders.
Each review panel must comprise no fewer than five members, including both internal and external peers. At least one-third of the panel members must be external experts. The expert panel will hear reports from project leaders on implementation progress, examine relevant project materials, and provide written evaluations on task completion, achievements, and the appropriateness of fund usage.

Material Submission Requirements
For newly introduced talent projects, applicants must submit the “Guangdong Province Higher Education Institution Introduced Talent Project Completion Report” and the “Fund Usage Registration Form.” For high-level talent projects, applicants must submit the “Guangdong Province Higher Education Institution High-Level Talent Project Completion Report,” the “Fund Usage Registration Form,” and a copy of the “Project Plan Contract.”
Project leaders must submit all materials to the Research Affairs Office for review prior to the meeting. After successful review, three printed copies should be submitted along with an electronic version to the Research Affairs Office.
